Jerry Kavinski - Lyric Tenor

An accomplished lyric tenor, Jerry Kavinski appears regularly as a soloist in the Washington, DC area. Recent engagements include the National Symphony (Peasant Leader, Eugene Onegin), Washington Bach Consort (BWV 22, 24, 161 & 163), Reston Chorale (Mozart Requiem), Maryland Choral Society (The Seasons, Mass in G), and multiple performances of Handel’ s Messiah. As a professional chorister, Mr. Kavinski has performed in NSO Pops concerts under Marvin Hamlisch and Erich Kunzel. Other professional engagements include Cathedra, the Washington Bach Consort, National Gallery of Art Vocal Arts Ensemble, Cathedral Choral Society, Opera Lafayette, Countertop Ensemble, and Brethren. His performances have taken him to local venues including the Kennedy Center, Strathmore, and Wolf Trap, as well as regional and international venues ranging from Lincoln Center (New York) to the Basilicas of St. Mary Major and St. Peter (Rome).
Career highlights include singing for Papal Vespers with Pope Benedict XVI, the State Funeral of Gerald Ford, and the
Inaugural Prayer Service for Barack Obama. In addition to his work as a vocalist, Mr. Kavinski serves as the Assistant
Director of Music at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Great Falls, VA, where he conducts the resident professional choir at the weekly Latin Mass. In his spare time, he encourages young musicians as a festival adjudicator at the middle and high school levels.
